The Unwarranted Bachelor (a new blog)

From the blogger of “In God’s Holy Word”, “The Traveler’s” Paradox” and “Writings of Seb” comes a new blog; “The Unwarranted Bachelor.” This site is about my journey in, through and out of childhood and early adulthood depression.

Depression is not an easy thing to go through. This is true even in our so-called age of enlightenment and with all the supposed advanced medicines. The root of the problem is humanity’s fallen nature. Generally speaking, we are selfish and (in the West) materialistic to the extreme. If something or someone goes against our personal status quo we react with hatred and disgust.

The purpose of “The Unwarranted Bachelor” is to bring an understanding to the Christian community concerning mental illness and related concerns. I know there is tons of material already written on the subject, this is my journey.

Personally, I was able to get out of deep-dark episodes of depression with a good, life-long friend who also had experienced depression as a child. This friend had family and friends who helped, something I didn’t until I met her and her now husband (as a close friend). It was and is only by the grace of God and Christ Jesus that I survived.
