Prayer Challenge Thirty-Nine

DEVOTION: “Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask me anything in my name, I will do it.” ~ John 14:13-14, ESV.

CHALLENGE: “Why: The Ultimate Purpose of Prayer” speaks volumes. The answer is to bring glory to God. We typically pray to bring about change in our lives; when Jesus prayed it was always to bring glory to the Father. Concerning God Kendrick brothers write, “He exists eternally as the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit and is utterly complete within Himself” and “certainly doesn’t need us.” So why did God create us? We being “here is a testimony to His glory.” The ultimate purpose of prayer is also the ultimate purpose of life: this is to reflect God’ glory back to Him. How does our prayer life bring God glory? How does our daily life bring Him glory?
