Prayer Challenge Sixty-Two

DEVOTIONAL: “But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind. For that person must not suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord.” James 1:6-7, ESV.

CHALLENGE: Faith or Doubt? Asking God for something can be easy, but what about anticipating the fulfillment of our prayers? In today’s culture we come face-to-face with lies that are rooted in doubts about God and His nature. Some lies are God is “unaware, unable, uncaring, unwilling, or unlikely to answer.” If these characteristics are true of God then what is the point of praying?

Kendrick tells us, “When you pray, you should rest in the fact that God is not” any of these. He is in fact the total opposite. We are to expect “Him to know [our] hearts”, believe “that no limitations apply to Him”, anticipate “that He will respond”, and always assume “that He is there and listening, willing to come” to help us.

What doubts are you facing today? What areas are we faithfully seeking after Christ Jesus, our Lord and Saviour?
