Prayer Challenge Forty-Two

DEVOTIONAL: “For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be glory forever. Amen.” – Matthew 11:36, ESV.

CHALLENGE: “Prayer is about God.” We pray, we expect answers. “We are seeking to access God’s kingdom resources, for His mighty power to work on our behalf, and for Him to reveal His glory in our situation.” Yet we don’t always get the answers we desire. The Kendrick brothers say this is the third definition (or purpose) of prayer: “Prayer is communion with God in order to…Access and advance His kingdom, power and glory.” There may be times we forget our prayers are to “advance His kingdom”. Do we have a healthy balance of accessing and advancing in our prayers? How are our prayers, as individuals and as churches, advancing God’s Kingdom?
