Prayer Challenge Seventeen

Devotional: “If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. By this my Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit and so prove to be my disciples.” ~ John 15:7-8, ESV.

Challenge: Your prayers… In Keller’s five-step framework of prayer we have seen evocation, meditation and word prayer. His fourth component is what most people think of when they hear the term “prayer”, and that is “free prayer”. After focusing on God, who He is and what He has done for us, and meditating on His Holy Word and praying Scripture we can turn outward and inward. Keller says, “Free prayer means simply to pour out your heart in prayer.” What needs do those around you have? Do you feel free to pray, intercede, on their behalf? Lay your requests and praises before the Lord, and He will answer.
