Prayer Challenge Twelve

Devotion: “Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? … But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?” ~ Matthew 6:26&30 (ESV).

Challenge: Trusting God… Calvin’s third rule of prayer to consider is “submissive trust of God”. God created everything and ultimately He is in control of all things. Trusting God is not an easy task. If you have doubts or misgivings, you’re not alone—the Bible is full of heroes of the faith who lost their trust in God at some point in their lives. Abram and Sarai gave up hope that God would fulfill His promise (Gen 16); Moses struck the rock in anger and doubt (Num 20:8-12). Their tasks seem to have been small or large in comparison to what you are going through today. What is God asking of you that can only be accomplished through complete surrender and trust in God the Father?
